Ethics and Human Interface
Ethics and human interface for UPSC GS IV: essence, determinants and consequences of ethics, private vs public relationships, and human values.
SyllabusGS IV · Ethics and human interface: essence, determinants and consequences of ethics in human actions
This is the opening block of the GS IV syllabus and the vocabulary for everything that follows. It asks what ethics is, where an individual’s ethics comes from, what follows when people act ethically or unethically, and how values are passed on through family, society and schools.
What UPSC asks. GS IV is a Mains-only paper; Prelims does not test it directly. In Mains, this chapter appears as short definitional questions (“What do you understand by…”, “Distinguish between…”), as quotations to interpret, and as questions on the lessons a leader, reformer or administrator offers. Precise definitions plus one administrative example per idea score well.
